MISSION:
Our mission is to work together to further the quality of the practice of the environmental professional in the state of Florida.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Southwest Chapter of FAEP serves Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Desoto, Sarasota, Hendry and Glades counties. We hold bi-monthly meetings and events covering subjects in the environmental field, including biology, engineering, and any other environmental discipline. Topics of past meetings and events include filter marshes, listed species, agency updates, plant identification, hurricane recovery, mitigation banking, and many others.
¤ Each year the Southwest Chapter sponsors: Scientific Events, Informative Presentations, Technical Field Trips, a Fun Fall Picnic, and a December Holiday Party.
¤ A monthly newsletter includes articles on local news as well as national events, speakers, calendar of events, and technical articles from local professionals. Please contact Kim Schlachta (Newsletter Editor), to contribute to the newsletter or for a complimentary newsletter.
