3rd Annual SWFAEP Inshore Slam

SWFAEP hosted the 3rd Annual Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament on October 10-13th. We had a blast getting to see some old and new faces at our event! The Captain’s meeting was graciously hosted by Yucatan Waterfront bar and Grill in Matlacha. Fishing tournament limits were increased to the Anna Maria Island Bridge and Chokoloskee! We ended our event with the Awards Dinner and Silent Auction at the Heitman House in the heart of downtown Fort Myers.

This year’s event supported incredible organizations: Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), Keep Lee County Beautiful (KLCB), and Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW). Thanks to everyone’s generosity, SCCF will launch its largest tortoise habitat restoration project, helping gopher tortoises on Sanibel Island recover from recent hurricanes. Our fundraising also boosts the KLCB Estero Bay Marine Clean Up and CREW’s educational trail signs, making a real impact across Southwest Florida! This year, we proudly donated $9,550 to the KLCB Estero Bay Marine Cleanup (aka “Monofilament Madness”) where over 150 volunteers removed 25,000 pounds of debris from local waterways!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors: Bellingham Marine, Sandhill Environmental, URS Marine and the Yucatan Bar and Grill. We thank you for not only your financial contributions, but your commitment to bettering our environment.
