Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent Certification Training

SWFAEP teamed up with Wildlands Conservation and Conservation Collier to host an Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent Certification Training at the Railhead Scrub Preserve in Bonita Springs. Our instructors, Neal and Eric, provided a hands-on learning experience to train our participants on the proper permitting, surveying, scoping, trapping, and handling of Gopher Tortoises. Our participants learned the essential rules and regulations established by FWC, and gained critical knowledge to enhance their professional careers. After completing this course, in addition to the required online learning courses with FWC, our participants are eligible to receive their Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent permits.
